X to MP3.Just the sound.
Some posts are worth keeping for the audio alone — a live set, a verse, a press quote, a soundboard clip. Paste the link and take the track without dragging 200MB of video along with it.

The post with the sound
Any public x.com video, space recording, or clip with an audio track.
02 · MP3
Audio-only path
XDL demuxes the audio stream instead of downloading and converting the video.

Named, not hashed
The file lands with the post author and date in the name, not a random string.
Extract audio from X without a converter site
The usual route is two downloads and an upload: grab the MP4, hand it to a converter, wait, download again. XDL skips it. X serves audio as its own stream inside the same manifest, so the audio-only path fetches that stream directly — smaller, faster, and never re-encoded twice.
Bitrate is whatever the post carried, commonly 128kbps for phone uploads and up to 320kbps for studio audio. XDL does not upsample; an inflated bitrate on a phone recording is a bigger file, not a better one.
Questions
- Is the MP3 re-encoded?
- Only when the source stream is not already MP3-compatible. When it is, the audio is copied through untouched — no generation loss.
- Can I grab audio from an X Space?
- If the recording is public and playable in a browser, yes. Live Spaces still in progress have no finished stream to fetch.
- Why is my file only 128kbps?
- Because the post was. XDL gives you the source bitrate rather than padding it out to look better.
