how amazing it must have been seeing this scene for the first time in theaters

Clayton’s death in TARZAN (1999) is one of the darkest moments Disney ever slipped into an animated film. The lightning flashes, the silhouette appears for a split second, and the movie trusts the audience to put the pieces together. Chilling stuff.

the ending scene of monster (2023)

That final door scene in MONSTERS, INC. (2001) still gets me. After spending the whole movie watching Sulley miss Boo, hearing that tiny “Kitty!” from the other side of the door is all Pixar needed. Then Sulley smiles and you’re done.

The original trailer for THE EXORCIST (1973) was so unsettling that Warner Bros. pulled it from theaters after test audiences became physically ill. Its rapid flashes of possessed faces & sound design made the trailer itself a piece of horror history.

How incredible must it have been to witness this scene for the first time in a theater?

Brendan Fraser says the new THE MUMMY begins filming tomorrow. Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, the duo behind READY OR NOT and SCREAM, are directing, with Fraser and Rachel Weisz returning. In theaters October 15, 2027.
