From 15 October, UPI stops being free for some merchants. Merchant payments above ₹2,000 carry a 0.4% fee, capped at ₹300. The merchant pays, not you. Payments of ₹2,000 or less, transfers between people, and small QR merchants taking up to ₹1 lakh a month stay free.
