Large waves battered coastal homes in Long Beach Island, New Jersey on Friday as a powerful nor’easter swept across the East Coast. Both New York Gov. Kathy Hochul and New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill issued states of emergency for certain regions, especially along the coasts.
