Researchers have started core-drilling the boat-shaped Durupınar formation in eastern Turkey, ~18 miles south of Mount Ararat. Radar scans showed right angles, possible corridors and chambers; early cores reportedly hit organic-rich layers and no solid limestone bedrock so far.
