This is why an electrical wire suddenly starts getting hot.

Every cable has resistance. As cable length increases, resistance increases and when current flows, more voltage is lost. - Longer cable = More resistance = More voltage drop - Smaller conductor = Higher resistance - Higher current = Greater voltage drop Remember: Vd = I × R

230V x30A = 6.9Kw ... But is that always true? Power factor changes the answer.

Stop guessing cable size.

When two phases touch, a phase-to-phase short circuit occurs. A very high fault current flows between the phases, causing a sudden voltage disturbance. Protective devices such as MCBs, MCCBs, or relays should trip quickly to isolate the fault. Two phases touch → high fault

MCBs: B, C, D, Z & K Main difference is their instantaneous trip characteristic: B: 3–5× rated current — lighting & domestic loads. C: 5–10× — general & moderate inrush loads. D: 10–20× — motors & high-inrush loads. K: 8–12× — motors/transformers. Z: 2–3× — sensitive electronic

If one phase is lost while the motor is running, it enters single-phasing. The motor may keep running but draws excessive current in the remaining phases, causing overheating and possible winding damage. Phase loss → high current → overheating → motor failure

A computer service in Vietnam captured a severe explosion of a brand new Megamax VS750D 750 watt power supply. The technician plugged in the cable on his desk for a standard pre-install check. Upon receiving power, a heavy electrical breakdown occurred

Love the clarity on cable burn!
This explanation really opened my eyes!
