She began learning acting at 13 and spent a year at Prithvi Theatre. A director spotted her at a school function and offered her a lead role. Her first film was the 2005 Hindi movie Chand Sa Roshan Chehra when she was 15; it went unnoticed. South Indian work followed quickly.
