TUNED TO THIS CLIP

F1 had to delay the October 4 Bahrain Grand Prix at Sepang, Malaysia, by 50 minutes to deploy a hotfix. A wet-weather software bug hit during the pre-race formation laps, when cars warm up their tires and brakes before the actual race start. Several cars got stuck idling.

950s engineers invented the most bizarre car safety idea ever

This angle from the grandstands shows the EXACT moment the FIA software bug caused the cars to suddenly slow down together on the formation lap. 😭 #F1 | #BahrainGP

@Everything Formula

Un fanático grabó el momento justo cuando los Fórmula 1 perdieron potencia por un error en el Software. 10 autos limitados a 30km/h literalmente por un bug 🙏

What was the “software bug” that caused chaos before F1’s race in Malaysia, and how exactly did it intervene?

imagine being the pinnacle of motorsport and having to delay a race for idk how long due to a software issue
