Just a couple hundred miles from Mexico's southwestern coast, Hurricane Polo strengthens even further. Polo has recently recorded a central pressure of 892 millibars, making it the second most-intense Eastern Pacific hurricane on record, behind 2015's Hurricane Patricia.
