TUNED TO THIS CLIP

A satellite lifetime timelapse of Hurricane Polo from its inception to its dissipation. Its journey saw it intensify into a Category 5 storm multiple times, become one of the strongest Eastern Pacific hurricanes on record, and make two landfalls in Mexico.

Just a couple hundred miles from Mexico's southwestern coast, Hurricane Polo strengthens even further. Polo has recently recorded a central pressure of 892 millibars, making it the second most-intense Eastern Pacific hurricane on record, behind 2015's Hurricane Patricia.

Hurricane Polo looks simply spectacular from space. A Category 5 beast.

The incredible full day, high resolution view of Hurricane Polo today.

Wow. Hurricane #Polo looks spectacular from satellite this morning 🌀 It’s a category 5 beast with winds of 260 km/h (160 mph), and still intensifying. Luckily, it is still forecast to turn away from landfalling over Mexico.

The Hurricane Hunters just released incredible footage from inside the 892 MBAR eye of Category 5 Hurricane Polo last night. This is what the core of the 2ND most intense Pacific Hurricane in history looks like from within.

@Backpirch Weather

Our world is truly insane. This is Category 5 Hurricane #Polo off the coast of Mexico in the Pacific this morning. @AtmosWX

This footage from inside the eye of Category 5 Hurricane Melissa might be the most jaw-dropping video ever captured of a hurricane’s eye, showcasing the infamous “stadium effect."
