Although Hurricane Polo is about 1,200 miles south of New Mexico, it's helping funnel a hefty plume of moisture into the Southwest. This long-distance moisture feed from the eastern Pacific to the U.S. will persist into early October, raising the risk of heavy rain and flooding.
